Student challenge

Even an old scratch card can become a design piece! We joined the Reborn Design 2024 project, a unique eco-design challenge aimed at supporting young designers, architects and creatives who are not afraid of challenges and give new life to secondary materials.

More than 500 kilograms of old scratch cards were used in the project

In their products, the students had to use most of the given material, scratch cards in our case.

Not only the students’ designs, but also their products’ commercial potential and technological feasibility are evaluated.

Students worked on sustainable and design solutions during the semester at selected studios of the Czech Technical University and Mendel University in Brno.

Reborn Design Competition

This year’s competition, in which participants created meaningful products from secondary raw materials, was dominated by scratch cards from Sazka. Students were tasked with coming up with creative and sustainable solutions for upcycling the scratch cards and giving them a second life. The winner of the “paper” category and the overall winner of the competition was Václav F. Matyáš with his MOTMAL project involving deodorizing eco-pucks made from Sazka scratch cards. We plan to further develop the selected student projects and collaborate with the students.
